ELECTRICAL TEST AND TAG
In each state or territory there are Electrical Safety or WHS regulations which specify the requirements that you must adhere to in order to ensure your workplace is electrically safe. One of those requirements is the testing and tagging of portable electrical equipment.
The regulations refer to the Australian Standards for compliance requirements, specifically AS/NZS 3760:2010. As this Australian Standard is referred to in regulation is it a legal requirement that your workplace is compliant with this, ensuring your portable electrical equipment is inspected, tested and tagged at the required intervals outlined in AS/NZS 3760:2010.
JTMEC have trained personnel and electrician’s Australia-wide that can perform test and tag services on all your portable electrical appliances.
JTMEC utilises the latest in PAT testing technology to provide efficient and effective services to you.

RCD TESTING
An RCD (Residual Current Device) is a life-saving electrical safety device that can either be fixed and located in a switchboard or power point for use in various locations. RCD’s are sometimes called Safety Switches or ELCB’s (Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers). They are designed to detect any disruption to the electrical flow through the circuit. They will quickly switch the power off should a disruption normally associated with electric shock or electrocution be detected.
Under WHS Regulations in many states and territories, the installation, testing and tagging of RCD’s is mandatory for all circuits protecting items in a hostile environment.
Our electrical technicians and electricians will also inspect, test and tag your fixed and portable RCD’s at you workplace. All inspections, testing and tagging is undertaken in accordance with AS/NZS 3760:2010 and any state based legislative requirements.
Remember that RCD’s save lives and it is important that you ensure they are regularly checked.
